Jane Gardiner is an oil painter, who is fascinated by people – so much so, she did a medical degree to learn more. This distracted her for a while from art, but in her thirties she started attended life drawing classes regularly. Encouragement from the class lead to entering open competitions, which then lead to ongoing gallery representation.
She has had two solo shows, several small group exhibitions, and continues to be chosen regularly for open competitions, including the RSA, RGI, PAI, SSA, Scottish Drawing Competition, NEAC, Lynne Painter Stainers, Discerning Eye, Threadneedle Prize, RBSA Portrait Prize and the BP Portrait Award.
